20TH ANNUAL MAINE HOME, REMODELING & GARDEN SHOW


Portland, ME  The 20th annual Maine Home, Remodeling & Garden Show (www.homegardenflowershow.com) will take place at Portland's Cumberland County Civic Center on February 6-7. This year's show will feature over 170 exhibitors, an impressive range of new vendors, skilled artisans, and unique home and garden demonstrations. Providing the newest tools, ideas and inspiration for attendees, the show also will showcase for consumers how to update and remodel in an increasingly eco-friendly world. Additionally, the shows popular Meet the Chefs series, featuring live demos from several well-known Maine and New Hampshire chefs, will take place during both days.


The weekend event's vendors and exhibitors will cover a wide array of home and garden topics and products, from landscaping and design to eco-friendly tips and services. Always a big draw, the show's crowd-pleasing seminars also will address a variety of useful topics, including 2010 color trends, tips on hiring contractors, making homes more energy efficient, and eco-friendly solar options. Some of this year's newest vendors will include Michael Lapointe General Contracting, Owens Corning of New England, SmartHome Solutions, Seaside Landscaping, USA Insulation, Efficiency Maine, Spang Builders, Hazelwood Handyman, Fortin Construction, Alternative Energy and Solar Systems, among others.

Host of this year's Meet the Chefs cooking series will be Candace Karu, Cabot Creamery consumer lifestyle commentator. Chefs and mixologists scheduled to participate over the weekend include: Cinque Terre and Vignola Chef Lee Skawinski; Solo Bistro Chef Tyne Danson; El Rayo Taqueria Chef Cheryl Lewis; and, Chef Harding Smith of Portland's Front Room, Grill Room, and Corner Room restaurants. The talented chefs will demonstrate and create signature dishes throughout both Saturday and Sunday. This year's show also will proudly feature Cold River Vodka cocktail demonstrations, and will welcome Mary Ann Esposito, creator and host of the PBS series, Ciao Italia.

The Maine Home, Remodeling & Garden Show will mark its 20th year on Feb 6-7 in Portland. This year's show to feature eco-friendly tools, ideas and seminars. Other highlights of this February's Maine Home, Remodeling & Garden Show include a raffle to benefit Habitat for Humanity, with a beautiful watercolor grand prize to be donated by local artist, Joseph Cousins; a guest appearance by Mrs. Maine America, Meredith Bickford; and, a variety of prizes and sample giveaways available for attendees.
